The following materials must be received for your application to be considered complete:

  1. Submit an application online.
  2. Request transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. The transcripts should be uploaded to the application. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
  3. Address the following topics in short essay or personal statement: What area of scientific research most interests you? Please include any faculty members at The Wertheim UF Scripps Institute who may be working in your area of interest. See faculty directory here. What benefits do you hope to gain from the PREP Program?
  4. A minimum of two faculty references who will provide letters of recommendation. While it is preferred for participants to join the program with some basic laboratory experience, prior research experience is not required.  The PREP program is designed to provide hands-on research experience to those who have had limited access to such training experiences. Applicants will provide names and email addresses of faculty references, whom we will contact to request letters of recommendation. Recommenders will be provided a secure link where they can submit their letters via our online application system.
  5. A CV or resume.

If you have questions regarding your application, please contact Rosie Albarran-Zeckler.
