Future Faculty Awards

Special programming and travel stipends for select postdoctoral researchers and prospective faculty.

UF Scripps is offering three travel awards and conference speaking positions for prospective faculty / postdoctoral researchers whose research interest lies in RNA biology or drug discovery and are from a group underrepresented in the sciences. For those who apply and are selected, the costs associated with attending will be paid by UF Scripps.

The three awardees will present their work to an audience of distinguished faculty at the meeting and meet the other speakers. In addition, they will join a half-day special program for trainees which will feature meetings with UF Scripps faculty and a campus tour showcasing the institute’s exceptional facilities. Awardees’ expenses for registration, hotel and airfare will be covered.

Applicants should be from a group that National Science Foundation has identified as underrepresented in the sciences. These include individuals who are African American, Hispanic, Native American/Alaska Native, Pacific Islander, or are from a disadvantaged background as defined by the NIH (https://diversity.nih.gov/about-us/population-underrepresented).

To apply, please provide the following:

  • A resume or NIH Biosketch
  • An abstract for the talk
  • Name and email address of your advisor. UF Scripps will contact them to ensure that they are supportive of the visit.

Please note: Applications close on Friday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. ET.

Notifications will be sent by Dec. 23.
